Apple has started production of iPhone SE in India. Shipping later in May.

This post is taken from 9to5Mac . In the US, the iPhone SE sells in two flavors , a 32 GB and 128 GB model for $399 and $499 respectively. Third-party Indian resellers already undercut that price point, selling iPhone SE around the $320 mark. Apple was effectively forced into setting up domestic manufacturing in order to launch Indian retail stores, as India laws state that companies wanting a retail presence must source at least 30% of their goods locally. According to the Wall Street Journal, government officials hope to see the India iPhone SE sell for even less in its home country.
