An update for Google Maps on iOS

A new update for Google Maps has arrived with business hours and gas prices



Google today updated it's official Google Maps app for the iOS platform. It's packed wit ha few features. If you're like me and are living in India, you might not use Apple Maps. Probably a Google Maps user... The following information is useful for those living in US and Canada.


Gas Prices

To check out the petrol prices, type in to the search query 'gas stations' to bring up a list of near by gas stations. Now, you can broaden your search by typing things like 'San Francisco gas stations'. Tap on the gas station and it should show you the prices of the petrol in that particular station.

Business Hours

In addition to gas prices, this update brings bug fixes to the app as well as times at more than a million businesses around the world. For instance search 'Apple Store New York' and you'll instantly get a list of the Apple stores with the respective business hours. If you go further in, you'll see a detailed overview for each day.

OS Required: iOS 7.0 or above on iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch

The app is localized in English, Arabic, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian Bokmål, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.

Apple has started production of iPhone SE in India. Shipping later in May.

This post is taken from  9to5Mac . In the US, the  iPhone SE sells in two flavors , a 32 GB and 128 GB model for $399 and $499 respectively. Third-party Indian resellers already undercut that price point, selling iPhone SE around the $320 mark. Apple was  effectively forced into setting up domestic manufacturing  in order to launch Indian retail stores, as India laws state that companies wanting a retail presence must source at least 30% of their goods locally. According to the Wall Street Journal, government officials hope to see the India iPhone SE sell for even less in its home country. There are obviously some cost savings for Apple to take advantage of by producing domestically and local government reportedly believes Apple could sell its iPhone for as low as $220 (converted to Indian currency).
